My GoPro wont turn on and I have no idea what is going on with the battery. It was working fine for a week or so and I had been charging it just fine in the front USB of my computer.
The other night I put it on there to charge. The red light came on like normal, but when I took it off a couple of hours later it wasn't turning on.
I still can't get in to come on and when I first noticed this, I tried to recharge it again in that slot and by doing so I powered down my keyboard which is the slot next to it.
This happen for about 15 mins. Then I plugged my GoPro into a different computer and red light came on again and it was charging. after that it worked properly again in my computer, but the camera still wont turn on. I hit the factory reset button (if it even exists) but nothing happen. I've tried everything pretty much.
Another thing that's odd is nothing happens when I plug the GoPro into a computer with the battery out and just an SD card in it.

Had the same problem. tried this and it worked for me.
I FOUND THE SOLUTION
Remove SD card and battery
Press and hold shutter button and keep it pressed.
Insert battery and click on/mode button.
That reset the camera and fixed it fine.
IF THIS DOESNT WORK
Remove the battery and sd card from the camera. Reinsert battery into camera. Connect the camera via the USB cable to your computer or USB wall/car charger adapter. Keep the camera powered off, and the red led on the front of the camera should light up indicating that its charging. Once the red led turns off it means its fully charged
I had same issue with my gopro several times. Solution for mine is as follows:
1. Remove battery
2. Connect to USB red light will weakly blink
3. Insert battery while connected to USB
4. Press and hold power on button
5. Camera should start in USB mode
6. Remove USB cable
7. Turn on GoPro
Oh thank Zeus. Went to the store I bought it from and got them to dig up my profile and history. They managed to print a new receipt and it turns out I also bought a 2 year plan with my GoPro. They are sending it back for servicing or replacement if need be.
Still pissed off at GP though but oh well. It can die as many times as it wants to now.... I'm covered.
I just bought Gopro 3+ Black Edition with other accessories too on 20th February 2014 from gropro.com . Cost me nearly £600 that I spend on this. Now mine one is frozen. I should spend the money on other like Blackmagic pocket. Very very disappointed with go pro .
